WisDOT sets public input meeting about Highway 14 rehabilitation work between I-43 and County K

A public involvement meeting is planned to inform residents about work set to begin in 2027 on a portion of U.S. Highway 14 between I-43 and County K in Walworth County, according to information released by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).

Work is planned to affect a 3.1-mile stretch of U.S. 14.

According to information found on the WisDOT’s website, the project will include urban pavement replacement with spot sections of new curbs and gutter, and sidewalks, from I-43 to Sweet Road in the village of Darien; 4.5-inch mill and overlay between Sweet Road and County K, and grading and drainage improvements in multiple locations.

The meeting will be held Thursday, April 4, between 5 and 7 p.m. at the Darien Senior Center, 47 Park Street, Darien.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and provide input. The meeting will be held in an open-house format with maps and other materials on display, and WisDOT representatives available to discuss the project on an individual basis, the release stated.

The Darien Senior Center is wheelchair accessible. Those who would like an interpreter present during the meeting may contact WisDOT project manager, Steve Hoff by phone: 262-548-6718, or email: steve.hoff@dot.wi.gov, three business days prior to the meeting. Deaf or hard of hearing persons can use the Wisconsin Telecommunication Relay System (dial 711) to contact the project representative.
