Whitewater police chief to speak at Greater Whitewater Committee meeting 

The Greater Whitewater Committee (GWC) has announced that Whitewater Police Chief Dan Meyer will serve as keynote speaker at the group’s monthly meeting.

The meeting will be held Thursday, March 14, at 841 Brewhouse, 841 E. Milwaukee St., Whitewater.

The event will begin at 7 a.m.

Members of the public are invited to attend. Reservations are required, and can be made by contacting Greater Whitewater Committee President Jeff Knight by email: pr@knightpublicaffairs.com or phone: 920-728-0662, by Wednesday, March 13. 

According to information released by the committee, Meyer graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with an undergraduate degree in criminal justice. He began attending a police academy class at MATC. After the 13-week course, with 520 hours of training, in January 2010, he landed his first law enforcement job as a Whitewater patrol officer. According to the release, Meyer will speak about the recent demographic change in the city of Whitewater.

“There has been much discussion on this topic. We are fortunate to have Chief of Police Dan Meyer to shed some light on this topic in our upcoming meeting,” Knight was quoted as saying in the release.  For more information about the event, contact Knight.
