Whitewater Police: Attempted abduction of child reported

The Whitewater Police Department on Thursday reported an attempted child abduction.

According to information released Thursday evening, police received a report of the incident at 3:51 p.m.

Police have reported that at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday a male approached a minor female at the intersection of West Center  and South Cottage streets in the city of Whitewater.

As stated in the release, the male exited his vehicle, described as a black four-door sedan with tinted windows. The male approached the minor female and told her to get into the car. The male grabbed the minor female’s right arm, attempting to pull her towards his vehicle. The female bit the male’s forearm and fled the area on foot. The male entered back into his vehicle and sped away at a high rate of speed.

The aforementioned male was last observed traveling eastbound on West Center Street, according to the release.

Within the release, the male is described as being around 30 to 40 years old, with “tan” skin, shoulder length, dark brown hair, and a long dark brown and gray beard.

The male is further described as wearing a green sleeveless shirt and having a black and gray “rose” tattoo between his shoulder and lower neck area.

According to the release, the male spoke English.

Whitewater Police continue to investigate the incident and are asking the public for assistance in locating any witnesses or anyone with external video/pictures in or around the neighborhood/city displaying a potential suspect or suspect vehicle, the release stated.
