Whitewater Chief of Staff Becky Magestro announced Monday that the Whitewater Common Council’s Tuesday, Sept. 17, meeting will be held on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus.
The location is a departure from the council’s usual meeting location at the Whitewater Municipal Building.
According to the release, the “special setting” offers “an excellent opportunity for community members to participate in the governance process …”
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., in room 259 of the James R. Connor University Center (UC), 190 Hamilton Green Way, Whitewater.
“All interested individuals are encouraged to attend,” the release read.
Meeting attendees will find parking made available between 6 and 9 p.m., in university lots 12 and 12A, both of which are accessible from North Prairie Street. Lot 12 is situated behind the Andersen Library; Lot 12A is attached to Lot 12 and is found between McGraw Hall and the UC. A parking permit will not be required in the two lots during the aforementioned hours on Sept. 17.
During the meeting, UW-Whitewater Chancellor Corey King and UW-Whitewater Student Government President Douglas Bradley, III, will address attendees.
Each will discuss topics that have yet to be disclosed, the release stated.
As of Thursday morning, an agenda for the meeting has not yet been posted to the city’s website, found here: https://whitewater-wi.municodemeetings.com/.
Responding Thursday by phone, Magestro said the agenda will be posted at least 72 hours before the meeting.
