UW-Whitewater Warhawk Marching Band to perform Sunday at Lambeau Field

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has announced that the WarHawk Marching Band is scheduled to perform Sunday, at Lambeau Field, during the Green Bay Packers’ home game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

According to the release, the 162-member band was invited to perform at halftime and post-game in front of a potential crowd of more than 80,000 people.

The group last performed at Lambeau Field in September of 2017, the release noted.

“We are thrilled to be able to return to Lambeau Field. The students have been working with a strong focus and determination to give an incredible performance. I could not be more proud of each and every one of them,” Glenn Hayes, director of bands at UW-Whitewater, was quoted as saying in the release.

The band’s performance, titled: “ALIVE!,” includes pieces as presented in both the movie and musical adaptations of “The Greatest Showman,” and “In the Heights,” including “Come Alive” and “The Club,” respectively.

As stated in the release, the Warhawk Marching Band performs at all UW-Whitewater football regular season home games and other select campus and community events during the fall semester.

UW-Whitewater hosts the annual Wisconsin School Music Association State Marching Band Championships each October.

The marching band is one of several musical ensembles at the university. In addition to Lambeau Field, UW-Whitewater’s ensembles perform in other venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Symphony Center in Chicago, and at venues in Germany, Poland and England.
