Editor’s note: The following information has been released by the Elkhorn Police Department and the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department.

The names of two individuals who were found dead in an Elkhorn bar are being withheld pending further investigation, according to information released by the Elkhorn Police Department and the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department.

Information released Thursday states that at approximately 12:11 a.m., the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting “shots fired and a person down inside the Sports Page Barr.” The establishment is located at 29-1/2 S. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn.

Officers from both the Elkhorn Police Department and the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the location, according to the release. Upon arrival, officers found the bodies of a male and a female inside the bar. Both were described within the release as having “suffered fatal gunshot wounds.”

The release noted that the incident remains under investigation, with “no further information available at this time.”

In its investigation, the Elkhorn Police Department is being assisted by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Wisconsin State Crime Lab.

Several agencies helped the department at the scene, according to the release, including officers from the towns of Geneva and Delavan, the city of Delavan, and members of the Elkhorn Fire Department EMS.
