Breaking news: Structural fire damages Center Street building in Whitewater

A structural fire in downtown Whitewater has been reported by the Whitewater Police Department, according to the Jefferson County Facebook Scanner page.

According to the scanner, the fire was showing flames from the roof of a commercial structure at 137 W. Center Street, at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The scanner reported that there was “also a female on the roof.”

At 2 p.m. fire fighting assets from the communities of La Grange, Lakeside, Kettle Moraine, Evansville, Williams Bay, Johnson Creek, Elkhorn, Jefferson, Delavan, Lake Geneva, Fontana, and Watertown, had responded to what was reported as a five-alarm fire.

Also on scene were EMS and other assets from the communities of Darien, Troy Center, Lake Mills, Linn, East Troy, Sharon, Cambridge, Janesville, and Bloomfield.

We Energies also was reported to have assets at the scene.
