School district business services director resigns

Ben Prather, the director of business services with the Whitewater Unified School District has resigned, according to information verified on Monday by the district.

Responding to questions by email, the district’s Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent Jaclyn Tueting confirmed information obtained from several sources by WhitewaterWise that the business director had resigned, serving his last day Wednesday, April 10.

In her email, Tueting wrote: “(Prather’s) resignation will be up for the (Whitewater Unified School District Board of Education’s) ratification next week, Monday, April 22.”

According to his Linkedin social media page, Prather Joined the Whitewater Unified School District as its director of business services in September of 2021.

The district, following WhitewaterWise’s request, did not share a resignation letter.

The district likewise did not release the name of an interim serving as business services director.

The next meeting of the Whitewater Unified School District Board of Education will be held Monday, April 22, at 7 p.m., in the library of the Whitewater High School, 534 South Elizabeth St., Whitewater.

As of Monday, April 15, an agenda has not been posted to the district’s website.
