PSAs: Walworth Avenue to close for public works projects; recycling event scheduled

Whitewater city officials have announced that Walworth Avenue is slated for closure to through traffic between Prince and Elizabeth streets “starting around” Thursday, May 9. The road segment is anticipated to remain closed through Friday, May 24, when the Department of Public Works will complete its work.

According to the release, Walworth Avenue was closed to through traffic yesterday, while the city replaced storm sewer inlets and pipes near two properties. The project additionally included reshaping an open drainageway.

Additionally, yesterday’s project saw the removal of terrace trees, the announcement stated. The closure anticipated in May is to continue that work.
