Voters on Tuesday chose Greg Majkrzak to fill an open at-large Whitewater Common Council seat.
According to unofficial election results found on the Walworth and Jefferson county websites, the candidate received 786 votes from constituents living within the city of Whitewater. His opponent, Keith Staebler, received 532.
Voters living in the Walworth County portion of the city cast 684 votes for Majkrzak and 439 for Staebler.
Voters living in the Jefferson County portion of the city cast 102 votes for Majkrzak and 93 for Staebler.
In other aldermanic districts, Brian Schanen, who was running unopposed for an open seat in District 4, received 359 votes. Constituents living in the aldermanic district additionally cast 10 votes for a write-in candidate.
In Aldermanic District 2, also running unopposed, Orin L. Smith received 63 votes, with constituents in the district casting 4 votes for write-in candidates.
