Jefferson County Master Gardeners to hold meeting focusing on pollinators

Members of the Jefferson County Master Gardeners and Volunteers Association have announced that tomorrow they will be holding a meeting focusing on pollinators.

According to a recent news release, the meeting will be held at the Jefferson County Extension Office, 864 Collins Road, Jefferson, at 6:30 p.m.

Group member Julie Hill will offer a presentation titled: “What’s the Deal with No Mow May” during which she will discuss ways to provide for pollinates in the spring and throughout all seasons, the release noted.

The meeting is free to attend and open to the public.

Attendees will be provided with handouts, the release stated, which will list “resources” and “native Wisconsin plants for pollinators.”

Following the presentation, the group will hear officer and committee reports.

The group also will hold a planning discussion about its May 17 and 18 plant sale, during which time members will share which perennials they will contribute. Other business will include suggestions for summer garden tours and help for the Jefferson County Fair, the release noted.

Additionally, educational programs available to members and announcements about future meetings will be discussed.

Following tomorrow’s meeting, the next Jefferson County Master Gardeners and Volunteers Association meeting will be held on May 9, according to the release.

Meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at the UW-Extension, Jefferson County. No meetings will be held in June, July, August or December.
