Fontana Police Officer Dan Nelson to offer Whitewater, Walworth County Crime Stoppers overview  

The Greater Whitewater Committee (GWC) has announced that Fontana Police Officer Dan Nelson will serve as speaker during its next meeting scheduled for this Thursday.

According to information released by the committee, Nelson, who also is the Walworth County Area Crime Stoppers law enforcement coordinator, will provide an overview of the Crime Stoppers program in Whitewater and Walworth County.

The 7 a.m. meeting will be held at 841 Brewhouse, 841 E. Milwaukee St., Whitewater.

GWC meetings are free to attend and open to the public.

“One of our members had seen the Crime Stoppers presentation and suggested having someone come speak on this important topic,” Knight was quoted as saying in the release.

According to the release, the GWC is an action-oriented group committed to working with citizens, elected officials, and policymakers to identify, craft, and implement a pro-business agenda, which advances the economic, education, and social policies required to energize and secure the Whitewater area’s economic future, as well as protect its quality of life.
