‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ is Wisconsin Makers free movie night feature

Wisconsin Makers, a Whitewater-based nonprofit organization, has announced the return of its free movie night.

This Friday, the group will be presenting “Fantastic Mr. Fox” on its 15-foot-wide movie screen, complete with 500-watt surround sound.

The Wisconsin Makers movie night is open to the public.

The organization’s building is found at 200 E. Clay St., Whitewater.

According to information released by the group, the movie will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is described within the release as a “family friendly film.”

According to online sources, the film is an animated adventure comedy which follows the adventures of “Mr Fox,” after he triggers a fox trap, caging himself and his pregnant wife, “Felicity.” Years later, the Fox family is living safely in a hole, and Mr Fox, a newspaper columnist, moves his family to a better home inside a tree.

As stated in the release, the plot thickens as it focuses on a spree of thefts led by Mr. Fox that result in his family, and later his animal community, being hunted down by three farmers.

The movie was premiered as the opener of the 53rd edition of the London Film Festival in 2009, and was released in the U.S. that same year.

Rated PG, the movie is based on a novel by Roald Dahl. Its voice cast includes George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, and Owen Wilson, among others.

During the showing, free popcorn will be served. Other food, such as pizza, soda and water, will be on sale for $1, the release noted.
