Edgerton Hospital medical staff members to address Greater Whitewater Committee 

The Greater Whitewater Committee during its upcoming December monthly meeting is set to host two members of the medical and administrative staff from Edgerton Hospital.

The hospital last month opened a clinic in Whitewater, 757 E. Milwaukee St. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Nov. 8.

Services at the new clinic will include family practice and primary care, psychiatry, and laboratory service, according to information released by the hospital in November.

Dr. Rene Buenzow, a family nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner will serve as a provider at the new facility, the hospital announced in November.

According to information released Wednesday by the Greater Whitewater Committee, Buenzow and Edgerton Hospital’s CEO Marc Augsburger, will serve as guest speakers during the organization’s monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 7 a.m.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

Greater Whitewater Committee monthly meetings are held at 841 Brewhouse, 841 E. Milwaukee St., Whitewater.

The topic of discussion will be the new clinic in Whitewater, according to the release.

As stated within the committee’s release, Augsburger has more than 30 years worth of experience in the healthcare industry.

Prior to his CEO experience, he managed various emergency departments and worked clinically as a registered nurse. Augsburger holds an associate’s degree in nursing from Lima Technical College, a bachelor’s  degree in nursing from Wright State University, and a master’s of business administration degree, with an emphasis in healthcare, from Baker College of Graduate Students. 

Buenzow, the release continued, is the sole healthcare provider for the clinic. She holds a doctorate in nursing from the University of Iowa, and specializes in both family practice and psychiatry.
