DOT: Department revokes three Elkhorn wholesale dealers’ licenses

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT), releasing information Monday, noted that three Elkhorn-based companies have had their wholesale dealer licenses revoked.

The three companies are:

• E and M Auto Group, LLC, 735 North Wisconsin St., No. 155

• All Star’s Auto Sales, LLC, 613 East Geneva St., No. 56

• OAS Auto Group, LLC, N5876 U.S. Highway 12, No. 245

The licenses were revoked due to the companies failing to properly follow administrative requirements, the release stated.

According to the release, the order, issued by the DOT and the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), determined that the wholesale dealers violated state law when they sold motor vehicles directly to consumers, rolled back odometers on vehicles, and falsified title documents when selling vehicles to customers.

Due to the nature of the violations, the department took immediate action revoking the license effective March 15, 2024. The decision to revoke the license was upheld by a DOT hearing on April 12, 2024. Dealers are given 30 days to appeal a revocation. None of the dealers appealed their revocation and the decision is final.

DOT’s Dealer and Agent Section licenses, regulates and resolves disputes about dealership sales and warranty repairs. It also investigates complaints about odometer tampering and title fraud involving dealerships and private sellers, the release read.
