Council elects Singer president, Hicks, pro tem; committee vacancies filled

Members of the Whitewater Common Council during Tuesday’s regular meeting elected Patrick Singer as their new president, following former president Neil Hicks, who was next elected as the council’s president pro tem.

Singer, once seated as president, reminded council members, and members of the public, that a pro tem president serves in the capacity of a vice president.

The two council members each were the sole nominee for the positions to which they were elected.

Prior to the vote, three new council members, Greg Majkrak, Brian Schanen and Orin Smith, took the oath of office as administered by city clerk Heather Boehm and were seated at the dais.
