Bethel House’s annual fall dinner fundraiser to be held in November

Bethel House, an ecumenical project helping families facing homelessness in the Whitewater area, will soon be hosting its annual Farm and Vine to Table Fall Dinner, according to information released by the organization.

The event will be held Friday, Nov. 3, at Staller Estate Winery and Vineyard, W8896 County Road A, Delavan.

The dinner serves as the primary fundraising event each year for Bethel House, the release noted.

According to the release, per person tickets cost $75 and include a five-course dinner with wine pairings chosen by the Staller Estate staff.

Live orchestral music and “many silent auction items” upon which guests can bid will be offered during the event.

As stated in the release, and according to Bethel House Executive Director Megan Hartwick: “All proceeds from this event will support Bethel House’s critical work to prevent homelessness for children and families in the greater Whitewater community. The needs in our community are at an all-time high, and our staff and board of directors never cease to be amazed at the rallying support of Bethel House donors when they know local families are in need.”

Additionally, she stated, annual fundraising provides support for the organization’s operations and its emergency assistance and transitional housing programs.

The release describes Bethel House as an organization providing transitional housing, emergency financial assistance, and case management to families in need. The organization uses seven private housing units to provide space where families can live for up to one year while working to overcome “issues that led to their homelessness.”

Case management services include budgeting, debt repayment, job searching, resume creation and building, life skills and decision-making, and accessing other community resources and services, among others, the release noted.

“Bethel House believes that all families deserve a safe, stable place to call home,” Jessie Dugan, Bethel House board president, was quoted as saying in the release.

Bethel House’s impact on local families would not be possible without community support through donations, the release stated.

“We’re so thankful to all those who aid us in that work,” Dugan continued within the release.

Supporters through monetary gifts this year include Bernie and Nancy Labovitch, First Citizens State Bank, Sue and Ken Kidd, Harry and Barb Penington, The Coburn Company, Inc., Bob and Sharon McCullough, Carole Scharinger, Richard and Veronica Telfer, and Kent Hutchins.

Additional supporters through in-kind donations include Staller Estate Winery and Vineyard, Sue and Bill Chandler, “and dozens of local business donors to the silent auction,” according to the release.

Tickets for the fall dinner will remain available for sale through Friday, Oct. 20, but, the release noted, space is limited.

Tickets may be purchased online or by sending a check through the mail. Both options may be explored through the organization’s website: www.bethelhouseinc.org.

Bethel House is located at 133 S. Franklin St., Whitewater, WI, 53190.
