Superintendent responds to media story regarding alleged altercation involving high school principal and juveniles in Williams Bay

By Kim McDarison

Following a story published yesterday in the Janesville Gazette, offering the following headline: “Police: Whitewater principal allegedly tackled student toilet-papering his home,” Whitewater Unified School District Superintendent Caroline Pate-Hefty, on Friday, released the following statement:

“The Whitewater Unified School District conducted an investigation into the alleged incident involving Whitewater High School Principal Brent Mansky on September 21 in Williams Bay.

“Upon review of all the documentation and statements provided by the Williams Bay Police Department and the Williams Bay School District, we have been able to confirm that only juveniles were issued citations related to the incident. Mr. Mansky was not cited.

“Furthermore, based on the documentation, it is clear that the article published in a recent media report did not contain all of the facts, important context and information surrounding the incident in question.

“Our focus will continue to be on our students and staff. We will continue to give our students the best educational experience. Every Student, Every Day, In a Unified Way.”

WhitewaterWise, also on Friday, submitted an open records request with the village of Williams Bay. A spokesperson with the police department said both the department’s chief and the village clerk would not be available Friday to fulfill our request, but would likely work to provide requested documents perhaps as early as Monday.

A form stipulates that the village is allowed by state law to take up to 10 days to fill the request.

According to the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access website, a summons and complaint were filed last year in “small claims,” against Whitewater High School Principal Brent Mansky, who is a resident of Williams Bay.

Court records show that the complaint was filed on Sept. 22, 2022.

In October of 2022 the court issued an “order for dismissal.”

A plaintiff in the case, William White, district administrator serving the Williams Bay School District, according to the court record, “makes a statement as to payment having been received and is requesting dismissal,” which, the record noted, the court “grants with prejudice,” indicating that the court has rendered a final decision on the matter.

Mansky, who the court record indicates, was not present, was ordered to pay in judgement $1,500 and a filing fee of $94.50.

Mansky, according to information supplied on the Whitewater Unified School District’s website, joined the district as its high school principal on July 1, 2022. Prior to joining the district, Mansky served for two years as a middle and high school principal within the Williams Bay school district.

WhitewaterWise will make available further information associated with the alleged Sept. 21, 2023 incident upon receipt of records as requested from the village of Williams Bay.

  • After watching the body cam, this man is absolutely crazy. He gets his house tp’d (Probably shouldn’t be a principle if you don’t want that haha) and acts like a murder took place. His emotions with the offices were inexcusable and definitely should not be around kids. There’s a reason you keep getting tp’d, its because you loose control of your emotions, tackle kids and go viral on youtube.
