The Fort Atkinson Club will be hosting “Photos with Santa and Friends,” Saturday, Dec. 9, between 9 and 11:30 a.m., according to information released by the club’s newly hired events coordinator Kim Adams.

The inaugural event is anticipated to become an annual holiday treat, Adams noted in the release.

The event will be held in the Fort Atkinson Club Community Center, 211 S. Water St., E., Fort Atkinson.

Tickets cost $3 per person or $10 per family.

“Friends” arriving in advance of  “Santa” include “Frosty the Snowman” and a group of elves, several of whom speak Spanish, according to the release.

Event-goers also will find “Mrs. Claus,” who will be on hand to greet her fans, arriving at 9:50 a.m., and Santa is anticipated to arrive and remain available for friendship and photo ops between 10 and 11:30 a.m., the release noted.

Event-goers will find activities and treats, including doughnuts, scones, orange juice, milk and coffee, which will be made available as participants interact with the full group of holiday characters, along with opportunities to engage in story-telling, pages for coloring, reindeer games, and watercolor art. The watercolor activity will be led by Heather Longhenry.

According to Adams, the event will additionally have live music, with a cappella group “A Matter of FACT,” a musical offshoot of the Fort Atkinson Community Theatre, which will be performing carols. The event further features performances by a sax quartet and a brass quartet, composed of Fort Atkinson High School students. The student groups have been coordinated by School District of Fort Atkinson music teacher Justin Steger. Additionally, the event promises “energizing songs” as performed by Bob LaMuro on the grand piano.

Event sponsors include Fort Community Credit Union, Ace Hardware, Festival Foods, Dollar General of Whitewater, Kwik Trip, Heather Longhenry Watercolors, The Langholf, Walmart of Whitewater, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater/Community Optimist Club, and Wood Street Bakery, also of Whitewater.
